LOS ANGELES — Mistress Cyan was named Mentor of the Year and Community Choice Woman of the Year at the Southland Honors Awards, presented by the Los Angeles Leather Coalition.
Mistress Cyan is primarily known as the President and CEO of Sanctuary LAX and President and founder of DomCon LA and DomCon New Orleans. As board member of the LA Gay Pride Festival, Cyan produces the “Erotic City” zone. She also recently received the Community Leadership Award from SAGE Advocacy and Services for LGBT Elders.
Honoring individuals and groups for their community service, the Southland Honors celebration was held at ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives Foundation in the USC library. The award ceremony is part of the larger LA Leather Pride celebration, which kicked off last week and will continue through Sunday evening.
Festivities this week will include a Fireside Chat interview with Mistress Cyan on Friday at Sanctuary Studios LAX from 3-7 p.m. (PST), the official LA Leather Contests on Saturday at Pico Union Project and the closing Open House party at Tom of Finland Foundation and the 7th Annual Off Sunset street party at Santa Monica Blvd and Hoover on Sunday.
