Mofos Reflects on Decade of Searches as It Celebrates 10 Years

BURBANK, Calif. — Put another candle on that birthday cake, Mofos!

Today marks the 10-year anniversary of the venerable reality porn site, which was created by Brazzers in 2008. Mofos to date has 20 adult sites operating under the Mofos network, with each offering different themes and storylines.

With the 10-year anniversary today, Mofos has already started to party on Twitter at @MofosNetwork, with a number of erotic poses supplied by adult stars Kimmy Granger and Kira Noir.

Mofos also has released a new fact sheet via Trendzz about its 10 years on the web.

“Ten years ago, Mofos launched and the internet’s amateur porn landscape was never the same,” Trendzz said. “A then up-and-coming Asa Akira starred in the brand’s very first scene. Since then, Mofos has become a destination for porn fans to see the adult superstars of tomorrow kick off their careers.

“Just a few of the names that started out as Mofos amateurs include: Mia Malkova, Ariana Marie, Riley Reid and Kimmy Granger.”

Mofos said searches for content were remarkably different 10 years ago. Its top search terms on the site were “anal,” “creampie,” “Asian,” “squirt” and “public” a decade ago. Mofos users now still seek out anal sex over any kind of content, but their desire to see moms has increased significantly.

Searches for “mom” have increased by 55 percent in the past 10 years, knocking out “creampie” in the top five.

Searches for “squirt” also increased, leading it to the third most popular search term. “Public” jumped to the fourth place in the top five, with “Latina” hitting the top of the 2018 list.

“Creampie” and “Asian” weren’t the only search terms that lost popularity over the course of ten years," Trendzz said. "By 2018, searches for “POV” was down by 82 percent, presumably because most Mofos scenes are POV scenes and don’t need to be searched for.

“The other terms that lost popularity over the last decade are a little harder to explain,” Trendzz said. “Aside from not knowing why ‘creampie’ and ‘Asian’ were searched 81 percent and 73 percent less than they were in 2008, searches for ‘bus’ decreased by 78 percent, ‘lesbian’ searches decreased by 71 percent and ‘Czech’ dropped off by 68 percent.”

In 2008, when the site first launched, Mofos was dominated by late afternoon visits. The most popular times to check out Mofos was 5 p.m. and 4 p.m., with late morning rounding out the top five.

Ten years later, late afternoon was no longer the most popular time to visit Mofos. While 5 p.m. still made the cut for 2018’s top five most popular times to visit Mofos, noon, 1 p.m.  and 11 a.m. all overtook it, meaning the Mofos audience could no longer wait until their workday was done to check out Mofos, Trendzz said.
