SAN DIEGO — The career of male adult performer Dray Stone, who passed away last week after complications from pneumonia, was cut short in 2016 when an automobile crash left him a quadriplegic.
Stone, who turned 36 in early December, had been forced to retire after he suffered a C1 spinal-cord injury, considered the most severe of all such spinal blows, after the accident, which killed his girlfriend.
The up-and-coming performer, who was a Texas native and bounced from San Diego and Los Angeles during his adult career, also was left on a ventilator.
After the 2016 accident, Stone wound up at Craig Hospital in Englwood, Colo., which specializes in spinal-cord, as well as traumatic brain, injuries.
Stone, whose porn credits were slim in his two years in the biz, worked with Reality Kings, Scoreland, BrickYates.com, Peter North Presents and Provocative Production.
He was a firefighter and bartender before jumping into porn.
