Rock Candy Toys' Founder Sells Company to Partner David Joseph

LOS ANGELES — Rock Candy Toys announced today that its founder and president, Keith Caggiano, has sold his company shares to CEO David Joseph.

Caggiano said with the sale of his shares, he plans to focus on other brand-building projects, including the expansion of his recreational enhancement Rock On and and Rock Life lines for both the adult and mainstream markets.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Caggiano said: “David is an absolute gentleman, both as a person and a business partner. It has been a true pleasure to work alongside him. David has a big-picture, visionary mindset. Additionally, the talent-packed Rock Candy staff will continue to produce one of the most exciting lines in adult retail.”

"We appreciate Keith’s contributions to Rock Candy, and we are excited to watch the next evolution of the brand unfold,” Joseph said. “I welcome the opportunity to continue to nurture my cherished industry relationships and foster new ones in the adult novelty arena, which is still new and exciting to me."

“We are stepping into 2019 with a high level of energy and laser-sharp focus on our sales and marketing initiatives; committed to supporting the direct needs of our retail and distributor partners. Our ability to retain and facilitate happy, repeat consumers for Bedroom Products, Red Light District, Rock Candy and US Arcades is our No. 1 priority.”

Rock Candy Toys was founded in mid-2017 during a casual conversation when Joseph explained his plans to expand into the novelty business with his male pleasure products company, Bedroom Products.

At the time, Caggiano shared details of his Rock Candy project, which includes candy-themed pleasure products, and Joseph was all aboard and partnered up.

They set out to conceptualize an artfully curated line of sex toys with a strategy that delved beyond bold color combinations and unique design features. Rock Candy later marketing its products with full-page teaser ads and vibrant trade show booth displays.

The underlying principle of Rock Candy was rooted in consumer psychology and the power of facilitating a remarkable retail experience, Caggiano said.

“We set out to design a distinctive line of toys that consumers would innately respond to; and one that retailers would be excited to showcase,” he said. “We wanted to deliver something remarkable for retailers and their customers.”

The company has skyrocketed in popularity since its launch. Rock Candy is nominated for five 2019 XBIZ Awards categories for Thursday’s contest at the Westin Bonaventure hotel, including New Pleasure Products Company of the Year and Pleasure Products Company of the Year.

Bedroom Products and Rock Candy are set to showcase their separate collections in Booths 211 and 212 at the ANME Founders Show, Sunday and Monday, at the Burbank Marriott Hotel.
