LOS ANGELES — Chaturbate said today that it is joining the Woodhull Freedom Foundation in celebrating #GivingTuesday by pledging $5,000 to support Woodhull events like the annual Sexual Freedom Summit.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving in the U.S., #GivingTuesday is a global day that kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year donations.
In 2018, this celebration of charitable giving will be held tomorrow.
Hashtag activism has become the most popular and beneficial form of bringing people together to help others through the gift of a donation. #GivingTuesday has increased in engagement by more than 53 percent percent per year since its introduction in 2011.
This charitable event originally trended on Twitter and has now expanded through all social media as companies, individuals and organizations have joined the movement.
