Gamma Films Celebrates 79 XBIZ Awards Nominations

MONTREAL — Gamma Films is tub-thumping 79 XBIZ Awards nominations across its varied labels, including AdultTime, Girlsway and Pure Taboo.

Pure Taboo, “Gamma’s boundary-pushing forbidden-themed studio and site,” a rep said, earned 52 nominations, including Studio Site of the Year.  Nominated titles from the imprint include “Anne: A Taboo Parody” with 12 nods; “A Trailer Park Taboo” with 11; “Future Darkly: Artifamily” with seven; “The Jealous Brother” and “The Weight of Infidelity” with four nods apiece; “The Electra Complex” with three; and “A Mother’s Choice” with two noms.

“Lesbian erotica studio” Girlsway earned a nod as All-Girl Site of the Year among its 15 citations, including nine for “Fantasy Factory: Wastelands”: All-Girl Release of the Year — Feature, Best Sex Scene — All Girl, Screenplay of the Year, Best Art Direction, Best Special Effects, Best Music, Best Editing, Marketing Campaign of the Year and Best Actress — All-Girl Release for Abigail Mac

Nascent brand AdultTime snagged two nominations for its “Girls Under Arrest” series. Additional citations include Studio of the Year for Gamma and a Paysite Affiliate Program of the Year for FameDollars.

“We are absolutely blown away by the number of XBIZ nominations we’ve received this year,” said Bree Mills, Gamma's head of production, who personally earned three gongs: Director of the Year — Body of Work, Director of the Year — Feature and Best Non-Sex Performance for “A Trailer Park Taboo.”

Gamma directors recognized for outstanding work, in addition to Mills, include Craven Moorehead and Stills by Alan, both nominated for Director of the Year — Body of Work and Director of the Year — Feature, with the latter also up for Director of the Year — Non-Feature.

FantasyMassage director Billy Visual is cited as Director of the Year — Web.

Mills notes that many of the company’s nominations, particularly from Pure Taboo, are for acting: Angela White as Best Actress — Couples-Themed Release for “The Weight of Infidelity,” and four of Tommy Pistol’s six Pure Taboo nominations, while his “Future Darkly: Artifamily” costar Jill Kassidy is up for Best Actress — Taboo Release.

Joanna Angel, who directed and starred in “A Trailer Park Taboo,” is in consideration for Best Supporting Actress, and her costars Kenzie Reeves and Small Hands are nominated for Best Actress — Feature Movie and Best Actor — Feature Movie, respectively.
