LOS ANGELES — Steve Holmes is celebrating five 2019 XBIZ Awards nominations, including Foreign Male Performer of the Year, a category he won last year.
Holmes earned nods for Best Actor — Comedy Release for “Dirty Grandpa” (Burning Angel) and Best Sex Scene — Comedy Release, opposite Marley Brinx, for the film.
He also earned a Best Sex Scene — Taboo Release for “My Dad, Your Dad” (Sweet Sinner), opposite Alexis Fawx, and Best Sex Scene — Taboo Release for “Joanna Angel Gangbang: As Above, So Below” (Burning Angel), opposite Joanna Angel, Bill Bailey, Mick Blue, Markus Dupree and John Strong.
“I’m 23 years in the business and have been nominated countless times on various shows for the best performer award,” Holmes said. “I received a bunch of awards in Berlin, Brussels, Barcelona and Las Vegas, but it is still exiting to get nominated. I am honored to even be considered as best male performer, when I see all the young studs on set. Some of them were not even born when I shot my first porn!”
He praised his experience with Burning Angel. “I’m a big fan of Joanna Angel’s funny stories and scripts. We had so much fun on set and the crew did a great job with shooting and editing this movie. I really hope for Joanna that this title wins a lot of awards. She deserves it.”
For Angel, the positive feelings are mutual. “It’s no doubt that Steve is a dirty old man, but there’s something so incredibly fun and charming about his perversions,” she said. “This movie celebrated all the different wonderful aspects of Steve you just don’t quite see when he’s a penis in a double-anal scene. He had so much fun with this role; once I thought of the concept the movie basically wrote itself.”
Holmes also fondly recalls his Sweet Sinner gig. “In ‘My Dad, Your Dad,’ I had the pleasure to shoot with Carmen Caliente and Alexis Fawx. Jacky St. James is famous for her sexy, twisted stories that she puts perfectly in motion. Having sex with these two hot blondes playing mother and daughter was already hot and twisted, but she also made me play a cook. I very much hope for the girls that they enjoyed the fucking more than my food!"
James praised her leading man. “Steve understands how to keep scenes hot and dynamic from start-to-finish. He is one of the few performers in the biz that understands the importance of the moment and building the tension. His scene with Alexis was a memorable one for me and I am thrilled that they got the recognition they both deserved!”

The 2019 XBIZ Awards, presented by MyFreeCams, and hosted by Stormy Daniels, are set for Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles. Fan voting for Movies & Production, Web & Technology, Pleasure Products and Retail & Distribution categories begins Nov. 21.
