LUVOQA Touts Désirables Porcelain Dildos, Massage Stones

NEW YORK CITY — LUVOQA has announced the full line of Désirables intimate products are in stock and available for shipping across the United States.

The Désirables line includes “the handmade Dalia porcelain dildo and Adori porcelain massage stones,” a rep said.

“All our products are made with the best materials available, by small businesses and craftspeople,” said Isabelle Deslauriers, founder and president of Montreal-based design firm Désirables. “We, of course, only use body-safe materials. This is why we chose LUVOQA as a retail partner in the U.S. They are committed to stocking only body-safe sex toys.”

The line is “the culmination of nearly three years of research and development,” Deslauriers said. “It began in 2011, when I was studying industrial design at the University of Montreal. My capstone was an examination of ethical design in the sex toy industry. The results of my preliminary survey of the space were shocking. Both then and now, there are sex toys on the market made from materials prohibited from use in children’s toys. This led me to create the Design & Intimacy project [French only] and, ultimately, to found Désirables and focus on porcelain as a material.”

Jessica Gordon, managing partner of LUVOQA, notes the “increasing popularity” of porcelain and ceramic dildos. The materials are not only “free from toxic materials, but also sustainable. Isabelle has made sustainability a core value of Désirables. Every piece that they produce is made from natural materials with names that you would recognize,” she said.

Porcelain, for example, is hypoallergenic and “holds heat,” she said, “so you can warm it with your hands or under warm water before use. Porcelain can be used with either water-based lubricant or silicone-based lubricant. It’s also really durable. You don’t have to worry about being too rough with your Dalia dildo during use. The oldest known ceramic artifact is dated around 28,000 BCE, so it’ll last the test of time.”

“Isabelle and the team at Désirables have created something special,” said Gordon. “We’re thrilled to be among the select group of U.S.-based retailers where shoppers can buy Désirables sex toys.”
