LOS ANGELES — Porntugal.com is celebrating its nomination for the inaugural XBIZ Europa Awards. The site earned a nod for Hardcore Site of the Year.
Operators of the site, billed as “the home of Portuguese porn,” expressed gratitude for the recognition. “We are proud to receive this nomination and to be in a list with the best names in the industry,” said CEO Carlos Ferreira.
“It’s very difficult to produce adult content in Portugal and manage to find local talent, but finally our work and efforts are recognized.”

Finalist nominees were unveiled this week for the first-ever XBIZ Europa Awards, to be hosted by the legendary Rocco Siffredi in conjunction with the XBIZ Berlin conference.
The historic ceremony, which is the first awards show of its kind in Europe — honoring nearly 600 nominees across a diverse array of categories in Movies & Production, Web & Technology, Pleasure Products and Retail & Distribution — will unite the international community for a red-carpet climax to the annual trade show.
Fan voting is now live for performer/model categories and will remain open until midnight on Sept. 10.
Industry voting is now open on XBIZ.net and runs through midnight on Aug. 27.
