Jessica Drake to Speak at Woodhull Summit Workshop on Friday

WASHINGTON — Adult superstar Jessica Drake will participate Friday in the workshop, “More Than Sexy: Conundrums Faced by Feminists in Porn,” scheduled for 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Woodhull Freedom Foundation’s Sexual Freedom Summit in Washington.

Drake, known as a sex educator and Wicked Pictures contract performer who this past January hosted the 2018 XBIZ Awards, will join Jupiter Slut and Jet Setting Jasmine at the workshop.

"I am especially looking forward to my first Woodhull experience, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to speak on a panel about being a feminist in porn,” Drake said.

“On a very personal level, this topic has resonated differently with me throughout the years as I have navigated various stages of my career. My feelings and opinions about this topic are quite passionate, and I expect an intense discussion that will hopefully educate and enlighten not just the folks in the audience but also everyone who follows along as we livestream it," Drake said.

“My sincere thanks to Jasmine and Jupiter for involving me, and Woodhull for inviting me."

As part of the event, Drake and other participants will discuss how adult stars deal with sexism when it’s their job to be sexy, as well as how feminists in porn deal with issues around propagating harmful stereotypes, unhealthy power dynamics and body image.

The discussion will also include what women in porn believe are the most effective tools for empowering themselves and others. The panelists will also share personal narratives about their experiences with sexism and sexual liberation.

The workshop will be streamed live on the Woodhull Freedom Foundation’s Facebook page here.
