Tyler White Passes Away in Providence, R.I.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Gay adult star Tyler White, who started his porn career with BrokeStraightBoys.com, passed away last Tuesday at his mother’s apartment in North Providence, R.I.

News of White’s death was the second in the gay porn community within the past week. Adult performer Dave Slick died in Chicago on Friday.

In both White and Slick’s cases, suspected use of narcotics may have factored in the deaths of the performers, both in their mid-20s. Authorities have not released results of their respective autopsies in either of the two cases.

White, 25, jumped into the industry when he was 21 in 2014. He stood 5’7”, was heavily tatted on both left and right arms and spoke with a distinct Bostonian accent.

He performed in more than two dozen scenes for BrokeStraightBoys. Well liked with the studio’s owner, White toured with BSB for a number of Pride events.

In recent years, White sold homemade sex tapes with "girls and guys and threesomes." He characterized his work as “gay for pay” on his Twitter page.

White said he grew up 20 miles from Boston and considered himself a big sports fan, according to a YouTube video posted on the BrokeStraightBoys channel after he debuted in 2014.

In the video, White said he wrestled in high school and enjoyed skateboarding and snowboarding in his Eastern home town.

Ryan Fields, a BSB performer and friend of White, told XBIZ that White was “a great friend and person to be around.”

“He was always listening to music and dancing everywhere we went when I was around him,” Fields said. “He had to be the funniest one in the crowd — full of life always joking around and playing with everyone — but he never went too far. He was one of the first models I’ve ever worked with and that was four-and-a-half years ago.

“He was truly a cool guy — tough, but he had a soft side to him. He wasn’t afraid to wear his emotions on his sleeve. He talked about was his side work. Other than modeling he was a DJ. He loved it, and we’d sit there for hours in the pool or whatever and listen to music and just talk.

“I’m gonna miss him. Not a lot of people make a mark in your life, but for me he sure did. Great model, great guy, and he deserved a full life. He had a smile and shine that stood out.”

Friend and fellow BSB performer Damien Kyle said on Twitter that White will be cremated after his funeral, scheduled for tomorrow.

VR Reloaded: Inside the Next Era of Immersive Adult Entertainment

For years, virtual reality in adult entertainment hovered somewhere between “quirky novelty” and “exciting promise of things to come.” While the technology hinted at a radically different way to experience erotic media, early experiments often required bulky headsets, complicated downloads, and production techniques that weren’t yet quite up to the task.
