APAC Asks, Have You Registered to Vote?

LOS ANGELES — APAC has issued a reminder to adult performers and the sex worker community to register to vote.

“Because too often stigma manifests in legislation that negatively impacts the performer and sex worker community, APAC kindly reminders its members to register to vote,” the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee said today.

“We saw how our lobbying, mobilization, signal boosting, info sharing, and voting came together to oppose and defeat Prop 60 in the November election. Every election matters because your vote is your voice.

“Not only can we vote, we can call legislators, send faxes and make sure our voices as voters and constituents matter.”

The next election in California, for instance, is June 4, making the deadline to register for it May 15.

According to the California Secretary of State’s office, the deadline to register to vote for any election is 11:59:59 p.m. (PDT) on the 15th calendar day before that election.
