LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is pleased to announce CCBill, MojoHost, and Cherry Pimps as its Featured Sponsors for the month of May 2018.
Each month, ASACP honors a select group of sponsors for going “over and above” in their continued support of the association and its ongoing mission to keep children out of and away from adult-oriented materials.
According to ASACP’s Executive Director Tim Henning, the association’s multi-decade-long legacy of success as well as its future endeavors and continued positive results have only been possible by the generous support of its family of sponsors. This record of achievement is highlighted by ASACP’s Child Exploitation Tipline, which has received numerous awards for processing more than one million CP reports; plus, its widely applauded Restricted To Adults (RTA) meta label that helps filter age-restricted materials to protect vulnerable youth; along with digital media market-specific Best Practices; a universal Code of Ethics that guides companies towards child-safe operation; and more.
“ASACP’s Featured Sponsors are true industry leaders and we are proud to recognize their contributions towards protecting children,” Henning explains. “The association makes the most of the valuable support it receives from its sponsors, leveraging it for an even greater value for society as we work to end child exploitation online.”
ASACP would like to thank CCBill, MojoHost, and Cherry Pimps, for their ongoing generous support of the association and for the efforts of these industry leaders to make the internet a safer place for children living their daily digital lives.
CCBill
Payment Services Provider CCBill, an ASACP Title Sponsor supporting the association since 2008, serves both merchant and consumer markets alike.
“ASACP is a critical component in both helping to maintain corporate responsibility within online markets and demonstrating our community’s commitment to childhood protection,” CCBill’s Gary Jackson says. “We are proud to offer our support as Title Sponsor, and look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership.”
Jackson represents CCBill on ASACP’s Advisory and Executive Bodies, further demonstrating CCBill’s proud commitment to supporting the association.
“As an invited member of the ASACP Advisory Board, we are honored to contribute to helping the industry remain diligent and engage in what we consider to be the right thing — supporting child protection and preventing child exploitation,” Jackson says. “What some may not know is that the CCBill Ethics and Code of Conduct Policies, which we adopted and applied to our merchants, were developed with the assistance of the ASACP, and working with Tim Henning during their development was a solid contribution to how we operate on this front.”
“With stark governmental regulations looming and in the current global political environment, ASACP’s leadership is vital in representing our industry needs, to help protect from unfair and uninformed actions against our business segment,” Jackson adds. “The efforts ASACP undertakes to focus on child protection measures is something which we at CCBill see as paramount to maintaining a favorable business climate.”
MojoHost
A Corporate Sponsor that has supported the association since 2009, website hosting specialist MojoHost owns and operates a global network and IP Space, peering and exchanging internet traffic directly with dozens of networks at various exchanges, while boasting a direct connection to the world’s top networks, and more than 250 Gigabit of global connectivity — making the company “the real deal” in fast website hosting.
According to company CEO Brad Mitchell, who serves on the association’s Advisory and Executive Bodies, ASACP is an important organization that MojoHost is proud to continue supporting.
“ASACP’s mission of protecting children against exploitation and keeping them away from age-restricted content is right in line with my goals as a parent, and advocate of corporate responsibility in my role as CEO of MojoHost,” Mitchell explains. “The ASACP Tipline has received more than one million reports since its inception and is an invaluable resource to the FBI and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.”
“More industry support is needed to continue its operation and I challenge business owners of all size to pick a membership level that fits their budget,” Mitchell adds. “No matter how small the charitable donation or membership level, every dollar counts and is put to good use.”
Cherry Pimps
Supporting the association as a Corporate Sponsor since 2013, Cherry Pimps helps to protect children and others from inadvertent exposure to age-restricted materials by locking its fare behind a paywall — requiring viewers to purchase the company’s adult content, including its live webcam sex shows — rather than offering it free for all.
“We’re happy to continue our support of the ASACP as they work to help protect children online,” says Cherry Pimps CEO Jack Avalanche. “Their work is invaluable and we must remember that their work is often thankless, but extremely necessary to keep child predators out of the online environment.”
“We thank the entire team at ASACP and look forward to many more years of cooperation,” he added. “I encourage all those who are not sponsors, to step up to the plate and participate, and give back to your community.”
“From payment processors to web hosting companies and providers of adult content and beyond, ASACP’s Featured Sponsors reveal how responsible companies take online child protection seriously, regardless of their market segment,” Henning concludes. “This commitment is deserving of recognition, and serves as a stellar example of ‘the right thing to do.’”
