The show is set for Saturday night at the Key Club on the world-famous Sunset Strip in Hollywood, Calif. The first of two red carpets starts at 7 p.m., with the show slated to get underway at 8 p.m. After the hour-long awards ceremony, another red carpet will open up for stars and fans who only want to attend the afterparty, which will also take place at the Key Club.
Adultcon Vice President Renaud West told XBIZ that he and his staff tried to emulate the hands-off approach to nominations and awards that Hollywood's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has.
"We don't have a hand in selecting the nominations or the winners," he said. "And no one has to do business with Adultcon to win."
West said that 30-40 major adult stars are set to appear at the show, which will have no formal host. Adult star Cleopatra of the Nile will narrate the program from offstage.
To buy tickets, visit the Adultcon website. Ticket prices range from $40-$100 and are only available in advance. They will not be sold at the door.
The new awards show will also honor Tera Patrick and Larry Flynt for all-around excellence, although Flynt himself will not attend.
