LOS ANGELES — Kayden Kross’ TrenchcoatX debuted today “The Female of the Species,” a new DVD feature distributed by Jules Jordan Video.
A publicist said the collection of vignette scenes shows off “the irresistible allure of the powerful and slightly predatory female characters.”
Kross created, directed and stars in the release alongside Nicole Aniston, Jesse Jane, Riley Steele, Abigail Mac, Evelyn Claire, Stallion Strong, Bambino and Manuel Ferrara.
Kross is the owner of TrenchcoatX, which had multiple wins at the 2018 XBIZ Awards, including for Specialty Site of the Year (Female Produced) for its marquee website, Best Sex Scene (Vignette Release) for "Sacrosanct" and Vignette Release of the Year for "Sun-Lit." Kross, herself, has three XBIZ Awards, including one for Director of the Year (Nonfeature Release) in 2015 for "Misha Cross Wide Open."
In “The Female of the Species,” Kross conceptualized and directed a reunion described as “sizzling” with her co-stars Jesse Jabe and Riley Steele — all three are longtime friends who last performed together in 2012.
“I've been wanting to do this project for a while,” Kross said. “I'm always drawn to situations where the woman is a bit dangerous. It gives the sex some stakes and gets away from the trope of the male character pressuring, tricking or otherwise leading his female partner into it.”
In the feature, Aniston portrays a wealthy heiress, revealed to be carrying on an affair with her bodyguard after her husband's untimely death; Mac comes home with her lover following a successful heist; Claire is the ultimate seductress who toys with a stranger the morning following a hookup, and Kross, Steele and Jane take control of the final show when the lights go out.
"It was an honor to be included in the 'Female of the Species' and to shoot under Kayden's direction,” Aniston said. “I loved the unique, dark concept and empowering, very real sex. It will easily be a new classic amongst men and women alike, truly beautiful."
Claire was inspired by the powerful characters: “Women who get what they came for are sexiest, and I love that this movie captures that.”
“Each of these stories was built around the actresses we cast, and they all filled the roles perfectly,” Kross said. “The quality on this project is phenomenal, the setups are unique and the sex and the women are scintillatingly hot.
For Kross, Jane and Steele, the adult superstars “decide to end their final scene together on their own terms,” Kross said.
“We had a hard time getting through the day because we were all back together and kept getting distracted with old stories and our own tongue-in-cheek references in the script.”
Jane said she was elated with the opportunity to work with Kross and Steele again, but this time it was "incredibly unique."
“For all of the scenes we’ve done together, we’d never done one with just the three of us,” Jane said.
Steele said: “It was so much fun being back together again, and the sex was as hot as ever."
“The Female of the Species" was shot in 4K, 16x9 anamorphic widescreen, with multiple chapter stops, no regional coding, cum-shot recap and a run time of 100 minutes.
