Pink & White to Attend PorYes Awards, PornFilmFestival Berlin

SAN FRANCISCO — Pink & White Productions’ founder/director Shine Louise Houston and marketing director Jiz Lee have announced they will travel to Germany to attend the PorYes Awards and PornFilmFestival Berlin.

Sponsored by PinkLabel.tv, the biennial PorYes Awards honors "an international group of queer and female sexuality leaders" — Australian filmmaker Ms. Naughty, Spanish “GirlsWhoLikePorn” creator María Llopis, U.S./Berlin-based filmmaker Sky Deep, U.K./Berlin-based performer Bishop Black, American sex educator Dorrie Lane (originator of the “Vulva Puppet” educational tool) and Canadian sex worker activist Chanelle Gallant, founder of the Feminist Porn Awards. PorYes festivities span several days of panels, parties and a formal presentation on consent and diversity in pornographic films at Humboldt University, "Berlin’s oldest academic institution."

Following PorYes is the 12th annual PornFilmFestival Berlin, an independent film festival focusing on alternative approaches to the genre of pornography. "Attracting an international audience of directors, performers, and fans, the festival is framed by events that invite conversations on the subject of sexuality today, and is held in Germany’s oldest cinema, Moviemento in Berlin-Kreuzberg," according to a company rep.

Pink & White Productions director Shine Louise Houston will present two of her recent films, "BED PARTY: Jack HammerXL and Nikki Darling" in the “Female Porn Shorts” program, and her short film "Writing in Bed" starring Tommy Pistol and Ingrid Mouth which screens before the festivals' featured movie, "After Eden."

For the first time this year, Houston will lead a “Crash Course” workshop during the festival, titled "Better Than Sex: The Movie Magic of Editing Porn" which she designed for the festival’s audience of independent and emerging adult filmmakers. "Inspired by an international community of alternative filmmakers during her first festival visit, Houston created PinkLabel.tv to provide resources and distribution for filmmakers like herself, whose works often fall outside of traditional commercial porn markets," stated a company rep.

Other festival highlights include the documentary "Pornocracy," accompanied by a panel on the state of the industry as it relates to independent producers; "Performer in Focus" highlights with Bishop Black, Lina Bembe and Chelsea Poe; and "Reclaiming My Image," a creation symposium organized by filmmaker Jasco Viefhues, along with Black and Bembe, for BPOC-only to celebrate other sides of black sexualities and counter traditional stereotypes.

PorYes runs Oct. 20-22. For tickets and more information, visit PorYes.de. PornFilmFestival Berlin runs October 23-29. Learn more at PornFilmFestivalBerlin.de. For updates, follow on Twitter.
