ASACP Heading to The European Summit

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its return to Prague for The European Summit (TES), scheduled for Sept. 14-17, at the Vienna House Diplomat Hotel.

“Being the father of a young old boy myself, I fully understand the benefits that ASACP’s Restricted To Adults (RTA) website label provides to parents with young children,” said TES’ Andreas Bischoff. “Therefore we are a strong supporter of ASCAP and its goals, and would like to see our clients join forces with ASACP as well.”

For 2017, The European Summit’s producers are continuing the longtime support of the association, by providing ASACP with sponsor status, including a complimentary hotel room and show badge, plus premium banner placement, an ad in the event’s show guide, a banner on the TES homepage, as well as other exposure on the event website and an exhibitor listing in TES’ mobile event app.

ASACP executive director Tim Henning will once again attend the event, where he will educate site owners and stakeholders about how they can protect children on the internet.

As part of this outreach, Henning will moderate one of the event’s most important educational sessions, an expert panel titled, “Age Verification for U.K. Traffic,” set for Friday, Sept. 15, from 12:30-1:20 p.m. in the venue’s Prague B Seminar Room.

“Age verification legislation for adult sites is here now in the form of the U.K.’s Digital Economy Act of 2017,” the TES show guide noted. “It is very probable this will spread to many other countries in the not too distant future. Find out how to prepare your business for the U.K.’s Digital Economy Act of 2017, which takes effect in April 2018 [and] also educate yourself regarding the growing movement worldwide by governments that are calling for age verification in their jurisdictions.”

The panel will assist attendees in staying on the cutting edge of the incredibly important topic and features panelists including AgeChecked CEO Alastair Graham, MerchantPay CEO Vince Charlton, David Cooke from AgeID, ICM Registry’s Stephen Winyard and FSC Executive Director Eric Paul Leue.

“Mandatory age verification is one of the biggest challenges, and opportunities, facing the adult industry today, and it is happening now — a message that many stakeholders haven’t yet received,” Henning explained. “This panel will reveal the changes in U.K. law, how sites can comply, and what it means for the future of online age and identity verification.

“The European Summit’s promoters enable ASACP to reach adult industry decision makers from both Eastern and Western Europe, and beyond,” Henning added. “It is vital these stakeholders understand the importance of protecting children online, and the technological options for making it happen — thanks to TES, this discussion will happen and children will be safer as a result.”
