Prices Set to Rise for .XXX, .Sex, .Porn and .Adult Domain Names

LOS ANGELES — Wholesale prices for ICM Registry’s top-level domains — .xxx, .sex, .porn and .adult — are set to rise by 10 percent next month.

It is the first time in six years ICM Registry has increased its prices, Stephen Winyard, ICM Registry’s vice president, told XBIZ.

Registrars set their own retail prices, so prices will vary when the increase occurs Sept. 1. Currently, GoDaddy charges $99 for .xxx domain names.

“Our pricing remains competitive, especially when compared to similar sized, new gTLD registries,” Winyard said. “This increase allows us to maintain our higher than industry standard best practices.

“Registrants and domain investors who want to take advantage of current pricing can register or renew domain names for up to 10 years at the existing price throughout the month of August.”
