LOS ANGELES — TS Wendy Williams has announced she recently celebrated her 15th year anniversary of being in adult.
“I am very blessed to be still not only working, but being able to compete with the new models entering the industry as well as keeping pace with them," she said. “Social media has changed the industry and it's a full time job. If you don't stay connected to your fans they have many options available.”
According to a representative, born identifying as male to a family of coal miners in Pikeville, Ky., Williams evolved into herself as a trans person and performer, following her graduation from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication.
Williams is open about being the adult child of an alcoholic and speaks openly about the challenges of watching a loved one struggle with addiction. It was in gay nightclubs in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia that Williams discovered her true identity through drag.
