'Playgirl' Features Flynt, Hirsch and King in Latest Issue

NEW YORK — As part of an overall plan to improve its editorial content, "Playgirl" magazine will feature an interview with three powerful women in the adult industry: Theresa Flynt, Marci Hirsch and Joy King. The issue hits newsstands this week.

Frequent XBIZ contributor Joanne Cachapero wrote the piece, titled "XXXecutive Women." Flynt, Hirsch and King represent Hustler, Vivid and Wicked — three of adult's most eminent companies.

"Playgirl" Managing Editor Nicole Caldwell said that she and her team want to improve the quality of the magazine.

“We wanted to bring 'Playgirl' into the 21st century with more content, a higher level of sophistication with photography, and crisper writing,” she said. “The result is a magazine featuring more celebrity interviews, issue-based features, interesting news bites, a 'Hot Man of the Month' in the front of each issue, and more space devoted to our readers' feedback, questions and sex advice. Readers can expect in-depth sidebars accompanying each piece, diverse subject material, and exciting photo spreads.”

Cachapero's work has appeared in XBIZ World, XBIZ Video, XBIZ.com, Adult Store Buyers Magazine, NyArts Magazine, PUSH Magazine, San Diego CityBeat, Eros-zine, Good Vibrations Online Magazine and Adult Industry News.

“With the way women in the adult business are usually portrayed by mainstream media, I thought it was important to hear from women that are professional, confident and happy with the work they do,” she said. “They all agree that whether you’re in front of the camera or behind the scenes — if you have a strong sense of self-worth and a good work ethic, you can be successful.”
