Grooby's Kristel Penn Launches Ikigai Marketing and PR

LOS ANGELES — Kristel Penn, Grooby’s longtime marketing and editorial director, has announced the launch of her new company, Ikigai Marketing and PR.

“I’ve been working with Grooby for nearly a decade, and I’ve always shared my knowledge and resources with any performer who has asked me for advice,” Penn said. “In recent years I’ve had performers ask me to guide them in their careers in a more official capacity, and I thought this would be the most helpful format.

“The term ‘ikigai’ is a Japanese concept meaning ‘reason for being,’” she said. “I firmly believe that success is the most substantial and sustainable when it aligns with a person’s personal and professional 'ikigai.'”

Penn said that Ikigai Marketing and PR offers a wide variety of services, but a unique feature is a bundled consultation that includes a 30-minute life coaching session with a sex-positive licensed therapist (LMFT) who works extensively with the LGBTQ community followed up with a one-hour business consultation with Penn.

Penn also offers business consultations, copywriting and editing, brand building and other marketing services on a case-by-case basis.

Penn added, “I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all kind of blueprint for success. For this reason, I’m very excited to offer business consultations bundled with a life coaching session. In my experience, it’s helped clients to further clarify their professional and personal goals so we can create a strategy tailored to them.”

Penn is on the board of directors for TAIF (Trans Adult Industry Foundation) and has presented educational workshops around the country to help destigmatize the adult industry and the consumption of porn.

Most recently, Penn was awarded the 2017 XBIZ Exec Award for Brand Ambassador of the Year.
