Belle Knox Story Told in Lifetime Channel Feature

LOS ANGELES — The Lifetime Channel over the weekend debuted the tale of Belle Knox, the Duke University and teen porn sensation who stirred a ruckus after she was outed for entering the biz to help pay her $60,000-a-year tuition costs.

Knox was outed by a Duke frat boy and classmate in 2014. The male student promised Knox that he’d keep the secret between the two of them, but that didn’t last long. Soon, the entire university, as well as the world, found out.

A yearlong media blitz followed, with interviews on “The View” and countless radio shows across the country, as well interviews from Howard Stern, John Stossel, Piers Morgan and more. The starlet also was the focus of articles in Time Magazine, The New York Times and Rolling Stone.

In 2015, Knox earned honors at the XBIZ Awards for Marketing Campaign of the Year.

Knox took a college-sanctioned break from Duke but later returned to studies to get a bachelor’s degree in sociology.

Last year, she confirmed that she is retired from adult filmmaking but continues to advocate for sex workers. Her website, BelleKnox.com, now forwards on to SWOPUSA.org, the Sex Workers Outreach Project's website.

The Lifetime Channel story about Knox, "From Straight A's to XXX" stars Haley Pullos, Judd Nelson, Sasha Clements and Jessica Lu.

The movie is available on cable TV and online through March 13. Check here for its schedule and to view.
