VALENCIA, Calif. — Girlfriends Films has won the 2017 XBIZ Awards for All-Girl Series of the Year and Best Sex Scene in an all-girl film.
The studio received top honors when “Women Seeking Women” was named the 2017 XBIZ All-Girl Series of the Year.
Most notably, “Road Queen 35” featuring Deauxma and scene partner Syren De Mer were awarded Best Sex Scene in an all-girl film for their performance in the final installment of the long-running series “Road Queen.”
Shot at various remote locations throughout the Southwestern U.S., “Road Queen” featured Deauxma’s custom 1951 Ford.
Director and Girlfriends Films founder Dan O’Connell recalls the circumstances surrounding the shoot.
“It was Deauxma’s retirement trip, her last to California to shoot the final episode of Road Queen,” O’Connell said. “She was the star and had been featured on every DVD cover up to that moment. Emotionally, I’ve probably invested more into that series than any other.
“I believe it was a big part of Deauxma’s life, too,” he continued. “She’d actually hug the car and talk to it at the beginning of every trip out here to shoot. I’d see her look at the car with love in her eyes.”
In the final episode, Deauxma offers to donate a kidney to De Mer’s very ill daughter played by Shyla Jennings.
“That was a very memorable day and scene,” O’Connell recalled. “Especially the dialogue setting it up. When Deauxma made the offer, it brought real tears from them and me.
“Between the tear-jerking story, the cloud of Deauxma’s retirement and my last time working with her hanging over us that day, things seemed different than usual,” he added. “I know Syren felt it, too. Both ladies are real-life moms and the story obviously got to them.
“Once the dialogue was behind us and we moved toward the sex, emotions poured out and fired the scene,” he said. “The surrounding events made it a very special moment we’ll probably never see the likes of again.”
Lastly, O’Connell expressed his gratitude to the all-girl scene partners, whom he describes as mature pros who have unquenchable appetites for sex.
“I’m proud to be friends with both Deauxma and Syren,” he said. “They are truly two very special people. Thanks so much to them, and to everyone at XBIZ for recognition of their extraordinary scene together.”
On the social media front, congratulatory posts flooded in to both “Road Queen” stars.
“This is my first time ever winning any award,” Deauxma exclaimed. “Thanks to Girlfriends Films for casting me in the part for 10 years, and with the sexy Syren De Mer.
“Special thanks to Dan,” she added. “Miss you!”
De Mer was equally excited and posted, “OMG! Me and Deauxma won the XBIZ Best All-Girl Sex Scene for Girlfriends Films’ ‘Road Queen 35!’ Thanks so much XBIZ, everyone at GFF and OC Modeling!”
Other 2017 XBIZ nominations for Girlfriends Films productions included All-Girl Release of the Year — Non-Feature for “Cheer Squad Sleepovers Episode 16” and “Road Queen 35;” All-Girl Series of the Year for “Cheer Squad Sleepovers,” “Lesbian Love Stories,” “Lesbian Seductions,” “Lesbian Triangles,” “Twisted Passions” and “Women Seeking Women;” and Best Sex Scene in an all-girl for Anikka Albrite and Dani Daniels in “Women Seeking Women 125” and Lana Rhoades and Veruca James for their scene in “Twisted Passions 18.”
