RedTube Fundraising Campaign for National Pet Month Brings in Over $13,000

NEW YORK — In honor of National Pet Month, adult tube site RedTube will be sending a check to Dallas Pets Alive for $13,128.73 to help homeless dogs.

With their “Thank Dogs for Doggy Style” campaign, RedTube donated 1 cent for every 1000 videos viewed on the site from May 26-Jun. 30. RedTube recorded 1,312,873,264 views.

The proceeds were sent to Dallas Pets Alive (DPA), a Dallas-based nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in need by promoting and providing the resources, education and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals.

“I am really proud of what we accomplished with this initiative,” said Ciro Sarmiento, CCO for Dallas Pets Alive. “It was initially small in execution but so big in results. We found a big idea that could resonate with a broader public. There are so many bad things happening in this world right now: gun control, racism, immigrant laws — we took the opportunity to make a statement using the adult entertainment industry to leverage on a not-so-popular subject: homeless dogs. It is surreal how people think heavily about adult entertainment and lightly about gun control, for example. I’m just glad that we can make a difference in this world. Any idea is welcome to change behavior towards a better world.”

Alex Taylor, vice president of RedTube, said, “Through the campaign and the great ongoing work by our campaign partner, we were able to create awareness of and provide resources for programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals. It was our goal to save and give thanks to the real pioneers of doggy style — arguably one of the best sex positions, and perhaps the reason many of us exist today. Our ‘Thank Dogs for Doggy Style’ campaign’ was a true testament to those who took this seriously and wanted to be a part of this wonderful idea.”

DPA, which is based out of Dallas, is run entirely by volunteers and all of its pets are housed by dedicated foster families throughout North Texas. They focus on helping the healthy and treatable pets, which are at risk of euthanasia at Dallas Animal Services.

RedTube, founded in 2007, is a leading adult video-sharing platform. RedTube, according to a spokesperson, hosts an archive of more than 1 million adult videos and “receives over 20 million visitors a day.”
