Porn Star Teresa May Is Mistaken for New U.K. Prime Minister

LONDON — U.K. porn star Teresa May is getting more attention and curious eyes after it was announced that the new prime minister in the country would be Theresa May, who was installed today.

Teresa May is not the U.K.’s incoming prime minister and former Home Secretary; she’s a longtime adult film performer who has been featured in magazines like Hustler, Men Only and Razzle, and has her own adult website, OfficialTeresaMay.com.

The name confusion — there’s an extra “H” in the Conservative Party’s leader’s name — caused Teresa May, the porn star, to trend on social media and gain thousands of new followers.

As a result, some on social media mistakenly believed that Teresa May, the porn star, had hit it big in politics.

“Who is @realteresamay and why is she suddenly our prime minister?” one user tweeted.

Teresa May, the porn star, found the comments interesting and tweeted yesterday: “I find it quite amusing how many people think I'm #TheresaMay the Prime Minister. Just shows how ignorant some people are.”

There also were many on social media who were disappointed she wasn’t tapped for the top political slot in the country.

“Unfortunately the Theresa May we're getting for PM isn't this Teresa May,” tweeted one follower.
