Magic Silk, Male Power Relocates Headquarters

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. — Intimate apparel companies Magic Silk and Male Power have moved to new headquarters in Hauppauge.

According to the company, its relocation was precipitated by the companies’ growth during the last several years. A commensurate increase in staff size provided additional impetus to find a larger home, the company said.

The new facility, two miles from their former headquarters, is situated on 1.7 acres. It offers 70 percent more office space and double the amount of warehouse capacity. “We had maximized every cubic foot of space in our previous location,” Magic Silk/Male Power President Jeffrey Baker said, “and we were bursting at the seams."

Situated off the Long Island Expressway, the building is accessible to staff and visitors. The interior boasts marble tile and wood floors, vision panels throughout the offices, mahogany doors, and tray ceilings with recessed lighting in some offices and conference rooms.

Energy efficient LED lighting was installed throughout. The warehouse and factory receive natural light from the large windows that line the upper perimeter of the building.

In addition, there are multiple kitchens, lounges and meeting rooms that allow for formal and informal daily meetings.

“Most importantly, we now have space between departments, allowing them to function more efficiently, and offices of sufficient size that meet the needs of our long-term staff members,” Baker said. “And our factory and cutting room fit perfectly into the new space.”

He describes the task of moving as typically arduous, but credits his dedicated team for getting the job done quickly and enthusiastically, in the midst of their normally busy holiday season. The company says the relocation will pay real dividends for customers of Magic Silk and Male Power, allowing the companies to maintain higher inventory levels for faster shipping, and further expand the product lines for both men and women.
