The Screaming O Receives 4 XBIZ Awards Nominations

LOS ANGELES — The Screaming O has swept the 2016 XBIZ awards season with four nominations recognizing the company for excellence in marketing, manufacturing, and its forward-thinking approach to the business of pleasure.

The Screaming O has been nominated for XBIZ’s Pleasure Products Company of the Year, a category reserved for manufacturers of quality sex toys and intimate items that consumers trust and ask for by name. The Screaming O’s recent attention to materials safety, manufacturer responsibility, and evidence-based marketing and design also made the company a shoo-in for Progressive Pleasure Products Company of the Year, a category designated to companies setting precedents and making waves within the industry.

As part of its commitment to customers, retailers and consumers, The Screaming O launched a product materials verification, testing and labeling campaign this year that proved the body-safety and quality of its products. With the help of an independent lab, the company customized a testing process that most closely follows protocols required by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act and now uses this three-point process to determine the safety and quality of all materials used in the production of its newest and most popular products.

In the Marketing Campaign of the Year – Business category, The Screaming O’s popular OBob massager took top billing. The lightweight hand-held massager features a smooth rounded silicone head and adjustable neck connected to a uniquely shaped “body” that combines clever marketing with smart functionality. Its marketing campaign and Barbie doll-inspired packaging created a persona that showed consumers just how perfect this Battery Operated Boyfriend can be, putting OBob in a variety of social media-friendly dating situations that played on its reliability, thoughtfulness, and strength. Retailers around the world have participated in the campaign using full-size photo booths, colorful displays and graphics, and other customized marketing tools that help create interactive OBob-themed shopping experiences.

The Screaming O’s SnorkelO novelty was nominated for Bachelor/Bachelorette Product of the Year thanks to its cheeky take on a snorkel with a vibrator included, allowing for steady air flow and uninterrupted oral sex. This clever novelty made waves during bachelor and bachelorette season for its silly “gag gift” appeal that was perfect for fun pre-bridal gifts. And with its corresponding Muff Divers Association membership campaign, the SnorkelO became retailers’ favorite adult novelty to use as a conversation-starter and go-to party gift.

“The Screaming O is incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished this year far beyond creating fast-selling consumables loved by men, women and couples around the world,” The Screaming O Representative Conde Auman said. “This year’s materials and marketing initiatives have made an impressive impact on our sales and industry reputation, and our development team successfully created some of our best-selling designs to date. Needless to say, 2015 has been a wonderfully fruitful year for The Screaming O and we’d like to thanks XBIZ and everyone who nominated us for these important awards.”
