“Night Shift Nurses: Kranke Vol. 1” releases March 15.
“‘Night Shift Nurses’ is the most-popular and best-selling adult anime series in Japan,” Adult Source Media’s John Amatucci told XBIZ. “After tenuous and tense negotiations, we won a bidding war against other adult companies looking to acquire the rights to this series.”
Adult Source Media will release one episode of the series per month for the next eight months.
Originally created in 2000, the first five episodes of “Night Shift Nurses” were released in the U.S. in 2002 — the last time viewers in the states had access to fresh content, according to Amatucci.
“Each episode is hardcore and by far the most intense anime I’ve seen,” Amatucci said. “This release is anticipated even among general anime fans. This is a big event.”
Every volume of “Night Shift Nurses” is dubbed in Italian, French, Spanish and German. Each episode is 30 minutes long and retails for $24.95.
