Ore. Mayor Gives Blessing to ‘As You Like It’ Pleasure Shop

EUGENE, Ore. — The As You Like It pleasure shop just got a nod of approval from Eugene’s mayor, who spoke at the store’s ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday.

Mayor Kitty Piercy spoke of the importance of sexual education at the ceremony, which took place yesterday about seven months after the 900-square-foot store officially opened its doors.

As You Like It owner Kim Marks, who started selling sex toys and novelties first over the Internet three years ago, told XBIZ that the store, located about a mile away from Eugene’s downtown, is her first brick-and-mortar endeavor.

“I’m very excited to get to this point,” Marks said. “It was one hurdle after another getting funding [for an adult-oriented business] and finding the property, but we are moving forward.”

The store, which places a big emphasis on organic products, offers a mix of well-known sex toys and novelties, as well as those manufactured in Oregon, Washington and Northern California.

Some of its best-selling products include its branded As You Like It massage oils, lotions and kissable body butter. It also sells products from Terra Firma Botanicals and Good Clean Love in Eugene.

Marks noted that at least one deal is in the works with a major sex toy and novelty distributor over the products and likely will be announced during the upcoming International Lingerie Show.

For those into restraints, Marks said that the store also offers a significant amount of leather goods from local craftspeople, as well as known brands.

“Thankfully we have a wide and decent selection for those into kinky experiences,” she told XBIZ.

As You Like It’s website can be accessed here. Its store in Eugene is located at 1655 W. 11th St.
