LOS ANGELES — Veronica Rodriguez told XBIZ she took control of her brand almost two years ago in preparation for what’s coming this week.
“What I really want is the fans to join me in my journey as I started producing, directing, and acting in all my own content,” said the Venezuelan star that is ready to launch her first official site, VeronicaRodriguez.com, this Friday.
“You can notice the commitment and improvement from scene to scene through the 75 scenes I have managed to produce thus far on my own.”
Rodriguez’s site will feature weekly updates with exclusive content, a member’s area, online store, live cam shows and her first-ever anal sex scene.
“I did the website all on my own, nobody helped me. I didn’t want anyone to help me. I didn’t want them to help me and then charge me a percentage,” Rodriguez said. “I’ve been investing my own money and I didn’t link up to anybody else.
“Of course I have a camera crew that I paid on my own. I produce it and I direct it. That’s why it took me so long. I’ve been working really hard on this and putting all my effort into this.”
The Miami-based performer, who started her porn career in 2011, said she wanted to become more serious about the biz and decided to form her own production company a couple years ago. Now Veronica Rodriguez Productions routinely flies some of the top girls in Los Angeles to South Beach to shoot for her site.
“My goal was to become a company that shows Miami,” she said. “I shoot a lot of beach and outdoor scenes, Miami-type scenes.”
On Friday she’ll start off with 10 to 15 of her favorites.
“I’ve been saving all of this content for my own site and of course I’ve been posting pictures and promoting it online,” Rodriguez said.
She’s flown in established performers such as Jada Stevens, Riley Reid, Kendra Lust, Nikki Delano, Diamond Kitty and Jynx Maze, among numerous others as she builds a content library.
Each girl she brings to Miami shoots at least three scenes for her that often include a girl/girl, double b.j. and boy/girl. She also has plenty of boy/girl/girl scenes and solos lined up that “nobody has seen.”
Speaking of something no one has seen yet, despite numerous offers Rodriguez held out for anal so she could debut it on her site this year.
“Everybody is waiting for me to do my first anal,” she said, adding the big scene has been booked for Sept. 15. “I chose my own male talent. I have one guy who is exclusive just for me.”
She also plans to do a live cam show every weekend, “probably Sundays.”
“I don’t do webcam too much and a lot of people want to request me to do web-camming so I think I’m going to do it for members on my website,” Rodriguez said.
“I also have my online store where I’m selling all the outfits that I’ve been wearing and autographed DVDs. I also have my own t-shirts and I’m planning on doing a 2016 calendar.”
The multiple XBIZ Awards nominee has amassed more than 100 movie credits for several major studios, but she said she’s not sure how much she’ll continue shooting for other companies now that her site is ramping up.
“That’s what I’ve been debating,” Rodriguez said. “I’m sure with time I will just stop shooting for anybody else just to bring more traffic to my site. ... I have to see how it does in the first few months. This is really what I’ve been working for.”
Rodriguez grew up in Venezuela, Miami and Chicago, where she graduated from high school, but she now makes her home in Miami because “I like the beach.”
She worked lots of jobs before beginning her porn career, including as a waitress at Hooters and as a salesperson at the mall at various places — she even did a few weeks at the Guess store.
Rodriguez said she held down shifts at mall kiosks selling products such as hair extensions and shoe insoles.
“I used to sell insoles that would massage your feet. I was that annoying sales person that stopped you at the mall,” she joked. “But that’s when I started figuring things out.”
Her sales were better than her co-workers and she started to realize she might be able to go somewhere with her looks. After a stint at Hooters, she got into adult.
“I got into the biz when I was 19 and I’ve been in it for four-and-a-half years,” Rodriguez said.
“… Everybody knows me as the ‘teen squirter.’ That’s my talent in porn I guess.”
Rodriguez strengthened her fan base by having a consistent presence at Exxxotica shows in recent years.
“I have the best girls. We’re well-known as the twerking booth,” she said.
And she also stays connected through feature dancing.
“I’m really good at the pole. I do one or two clubs every month,” Rodriguez said. “I actually love dancing. You’re not having sex on camera but making the same amount of money. I’m very happy with dancing so I’m going to keep doing that.”
