LOS ANGELES — Alexis Texas told XBIZ she could not have scripted a better response to her long-awaited directorial debut for Elegant Angel.
“Everyone was excited especially since I haven’t done anything in a while,” Texas said Tuesday.
“They were excited to see something new from me. It was really heartwarming in a sense to see that my fans are still interested in what I’m doing.”
That would be an understatement.
It had been almost two years since Texas had performed in any new sex scenes when “Big Booty Tryouts” hit the streets in late July courtesy of Elegant Angel, the surging gonzo studio where she is the newest exclusive shot-caller.
Texas left nothing to chance for the occasion, performing in every scene of the title that summoned a dream team of booty. For starters, Texas made a statement with the box cover, standing between A.J. Applegate and Abella Danger, a fearsome twosome that is among an emerging group of heir apparents to the booty throne.
And her cast also featured the likes of reigning XBIZ Female Performer of the Year Anikka Albrite, Dani Daniels and Keisha Grey.
Texas said her casting decisions came partly out of curiosity to see “new, young booties meeting OG booties.” That’s why the Applegate-Danger-Texas threeway made so much sense, not to mention Texas’ encounter with the curvaceous Daniels.
The two other scenes were no joke either. One of them matched Texas with Albrite and seasoned pro Tommy Pistol, and the other involved Texas taking on Grey and Bill Bailey.
“It was a mixture that worked really well,” Texas said. “We all had really good chemistry.”
She revealed that before she headed to the Exxxotica Expo in Dallas last week that she completed her second directorial effort for Elegant Angel that at press time was still under wraps.
“It’s a big one,” Texas teased, hinting the title is part of the studio’s annual Superstar September series. “It was an amazing opportunity to shoot and I’m pretty excited to be part of it.”
It’s quite a position to be in eight years after breaking into the business and performing for every major studio along the way en route to more than 550 adult film credits. Texas admits there are moments when she reflects on how much she’s achieved.
“I definitely do. I think it’s hard not to,” said Texas, who the 2013 XBIZ Award for Performer Site of the Year for AlexisTexas.com. “I’ve worked hard building up the Alexis Texas brand and it’s one of the those things where I like to challenge myself. I directed some stuff just for my website, but this is something different now. It’s a whole new outlook on things. It’s funny, even though I’ve only shot two movies I’ve learned a lot and I definitely have way more to learn.”
Texas said her experience in front of the camera is all paying off now.
“I relate more on a talent level,” she continued. “I’ve always only had to worry about my own vagina. Now I worry about everyone else’s vaginas and dicks, so it’s 10 times more responsibility and also being creative and thinking outside the box. Everything I’ve done in the business so far helped me to get to where I am right now and bring out the best in me.”
Texas said the past two years after her contract with Adam & Eve concluded that it made sense to take a break from performing. During that time she developed her merchandising site, TeamTexass.com, and feature danced her ass off, something she’s still doing.
“It was a good time to see what the business is becoming,” she said. “I also was getting to know my fans more with TeamTexass.”
She’s known the new head of Elegant Angel Jerry E. for years, making it a smooth transition to direct for him.
“I’ve always loved Jerry, so for me it was an easy fit,” Texas said. “We get along like old friends. It’s easy to talk to him and easy to work for him.”
This week she’ll be returning to the Lone Star State to dance Friday and Saturday night at the Men’s Club in San Antonio, located about 20 miles from her hometown of Castroville.
“It’s the first time I’m actually going home to dance which is a whole new thing for me,” Texas said. “I’m kind of a little bit nervous. I’m a little bit interested to see who’s going to come out and support me.”
The jetsetting star also has plans to visit a friend in New York and dance in Bridgeport, Conn., before hitting New Orleans Aug. 23-26 for the Exotic Dancer Expo.
“Everyone loves the booty, so it’d be bad of me to say ‘no,’” she joked. “I have to spread the big booty around.”
