LOS ANGELES — A new book from noted sociologist and adult industry expert Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals arrived in stores today.
“Exposure: A Sociologist Explores Sex, Society, and Adult Entertainment” reveals the business and personalities behind the porn industry, while debunking myths and misconceptions surrounding adult entertainment, Tibbals said.
“It has been a very exciting and challenging process to make this book a reality and bring focus to an industry that is dynamic and profitable, but often misunderstood,” Tibbals said. “The objective behind writing ‘Exposure’ was to provide a compelling and fresh look at the porn business and help demystify some of the misconceptions and stereotypes that surround pornography.”
Tibbals “offers fascinating insight into the adult industry’s inner workings, from film sets to business operations,” industry exec Theresa Flynt writes in the book’s foreword. ”She offers readers the chance to explore a mysterious world through her eyes — the eyes of an informed, sex-positive, empowered woman.”
Tibbals will have a book signing from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, at Hustler Hollywood, 8920 W. Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, Calif. The event will feature Tibbals reading excerpts from her book, published by Greenleaf Book Group.
