Clonezone Takes Part in London Pride

BIRMINGHAM, U.K. — Leading U.K.-based gay retailer participated in last weekend’s Pride march in London, bringing with them Alex Minsky, a U.S. Marine veteran, model and gay rights advocate.

The theme of this year’s parade was Heroes, and Clonezone chose Minsky as theirs, the company said. Minsky is popular in the gay community due to his good looks and vocal support of gay rights. He also lost a leg in the Afghanistan war making him a true hero and inspiration to all, the company said.

Last year, it was reported that more than 750,000 people attended London’s Pride parade and this year it has been reported that that number topped 1 million for the first time ever.

Clonezone chose a big rig truck that was covered in branded balloons and surrounded with men and supporters to celebrate its hero inside who waved to the crowd as they made their way through London.

The Clonezone store in Soho became an after-march destination as DJ Aamyko played in store and people partied on the street.

“This was the best London Pride yet,” says Topher Taylor, Clonezone’s marketing manager. “We had such amazing support; from our wheel stewards who volunteered through Twitter, to the amazing award-winning KU Bar gang, the London Fur community, Rubber Pups, Chariots Saunas, Haus Bound Drag Collective and a selection of the hottest gay porn stars in branded Nit swimwear. Our Clonezone whistles were also a big hit and could be heard for the entire day.”

According to the company, the U.S. ruling legalizing same sex marriage, made the celebration extra jovial.
