Brandon Iron Talks 'Shade X,' Teaming With Smash Pictures

LOS ANGELES — Brandon Iron, who is collaborating with Smash Pictures for the first time with the upcoming interracial release "Shade X," said the business has evolved and his new title reflects that.

"There's a whole new school of shooting and artistic styles," said Iron, who hasn't helmed a movie since 2013. "It's like it's gone from vanilla, chocolate and strawberry to 31 flavors.

"Somebody to look for in the movie is definitely Stella Daniels. She's 20 years old, new, fresh faced, the real deal, loves sex, and a no-lube kind of girl! She was fucking fun! Fun to meet, fun to watch, it is real with her... she gave it her all!"

"Shade X" marks not only Iron's debut with Smash, but the first major release under the watchful eye of Smash Vice President Wyatt Case. The title, due out on June 29, is also the studio's first IR release of the year.

Case said he's had great respect for Iron's work for many years.

"A lot of love and care went into ['Shade X'], and it shows in the finished product," Case said. "We are glad to have Brandon as part of the Smash team. I've known him for years and admire his abilities and his camera work. He likes what he does and you can tell.

"I'm excited to have him over here shooting with us, and we're looking forward to working with him more in the future."

Iron has performed in more than 850 movies since 1997 when he started in the adult industry as talent; he also has racked up 150-plus credits as a director for various studios.

He summarized the Smash deal, saying, "The planets were in alignment and Wyatt has been a good friend."

"Shade X" also stars cover model Katerina Kay, Sarah Vandella, Layla Price, Nat Turnher, Moe Johnson, Isiah Maxwell, and Sean Michaels. There is a bonus POV scene with Daniels and Iron.

Swinging couples swap partners as Vandella and Price try out each other's husband in one scenario.

"It was definitely a lot of fun to shoot!" Price said. "It was very interesting. I liked that it was a swinger concept... it was pretty kinky. I had a blast! Brandon was pretty cool! He's actually a pretty good director — very chill, very relaxed, I'd like to shoot for him again."
