ASM’s movies are featured in a scene where Jason Bateman’s character is holed up in a motel room, hiding out from the Las Vegas mob. Director Barrett Blade’s “Finders Keepers” starring Keri Sable is playing in the background on a large flatscreen TV in Bateman’s hotel room, and the boxcovers to other ASM titles including “She’s Got Mad Skillz” and the Japanese anime release “Daiakuji” are strewn about the floor.
ASM President Wendy Crawford told XBIZ the film’s producers approached her about two years ago with papers to give them permission to use ASM titles in the movie.
“We are absolutely thrilled that a major mainstream studio chose several of our top notch live action adult films, as well as an adult anime classic to be showcased in ‘Smokin’ Aces,’” Crawford said. “You can see Keri Sable in the commercials and our boxcovers. This is great promotion for us. We were all thrilled when we saw the commercial for ‘Smokin’ Aces’ and recognized our movie playing in the background.”
