Annie Cruz Launches Speed Dating Event, Condom Company

LOS ANGELES — Adult star and radio personality Annie Cruz told XBIZ she is launching a speed dating event geared toward fitness enthusiasts as well as a condom company.

Cruz is producing the speed dating event with her partner Dr. D, the president of The Dr. D Lifestyle, a company that offers dating coaching and “lifestyle design."

The inaugural event is titled AMRAP, an acronym in the CrossFit community for "As Many Rounds/Reps As Possible." AMRAP is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 at the CrossFit 213 box in downtown L.A.

“When coming up with the name for the event, AMRAP was the ideal name because in speed dating, each person switches off every three minutes, so it made sense and works perfectly,” said Cruz, the head female coach at The Dr. D Lifestyle who also hosts her own Vivid Radio (Sirius XM 791) show at 6 p.m. PST every Monday through Wednesday.

“My partner and boyfriend, Dr. D, and I are avid CrossFitters and came up with this idea as a way for sexy singles in the fitness community to meet other sexy singles.”

Because they’ve marketed the event exclusively to the fitness community and the gym is such a familiar setting, Cruz said they decided to hold it at one. But she assured there will be no workout involved at AMRAP and it is not limited to just CrossFitters, rather it’s open to all fitness enthusiasts alike.

“The bottom line is AMRAP Speed Dating is a way for the ladies to let their hair down and the guys to not be shy,” Cruz said, noting they are hosting 20 girls and 20 guys for the first AMRAP with more events — including one geared toward the gay community — in the works.

Dr. D, who attended medical school and completed a year of residency in addition to working for other dating companies as an instructor, added, “We’ve been thrilled with how enthusiastic people are about this event and the gyms have been really positive."

He said his company not only offers dating and lifestyle design services, it also helps with fashion advice and makeovers, among other things. In addition to partnering with Cruz, Dr. D is aligned with fellow adult stars Kaylani Lei and Ash Hollywood, who both work as dating coaches, fashion advisors and “wing girls” for the company.

In between getting the speed dating venture in motion Cruz recently launched Snatch Condoms, a company promoting safe sex in a lighthearted way with a fitness-inspired theme.

A seasoned performer with more than 450 adult movie credits since 2004, Cruz has also become a skilled graphic designer and webmaster. She created all the packaging for Snatch Condoms, which is starting off with tongue-in-cheek one-liners geared toward the fitness enthusiast.

The initial packaging options include: “Squats Are Like Sex, The Deeper You Go, The Better It Is”; “I’ll Show You My Thruster If You Show Me Your Snatch”; “I Clean, I Jerk and I Have A Nice Snatch”; and “I Only Jerk for You.”

Cruz said what makes Snatch Condoms unique is clients have the option to order custom designs of their own using their logo, slogan or awareness/empowerment campaign, which Cruz then will also design.

“We decided to fuse our love for fitness and dating with humorous condom envelopes as a way for people to show love to their lovers, partners or friends,” Cruz said.

Cruz offered an example of a custom package she would create.

“Let’s say a starlet wanted to promote her website or brand in a unique way. Her logo and media links could be put on these custom condom envelopes, and she then could give or sell them at tradeshows, events, or even her website as a fun marketing tool,” she explained.

“We also offer our design skills for those who may be just starting out as a company or may not have logos or artwork yet. At an additional cost, we will create their custom art for what they are looking to create.”
