Lincoln, who directed the film “Raw Retreat” for HDK, has a natural grasp of the company’s style, HDK owner Bill Gardner said.
“He has consulted on several other projects in the past and because he has such a natural eye for our style, we decided to let him do his thing,” Gardner said.
Rob Ragan of White Tiger Releasing, which began distributing HDK titles in October, told XBIZ that with Lincoln directing for the company, HDK would develop a more cinematic style while staying true to its hardcore roots.
“HDK will remain all bareback and very hardcore, but Wade gives the company a more mainline appeal,” Ragan said. “His films aren’t just guys fucking each other as hard as they can; he has a style that makes the viewer want to watch the movie over and over again.”
According to Ragan, Lincoln’s style matches the evolution of the high-end gay market, with viewers looking for hardcore sex scenes shot artfully.
“Lincoln is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet,” Ragan said. “But for some reason he has this other side to him where he’s able to create some of the raunchiest shit out there.”
Lincoln will follow his HDK debut with “Dungeon Gangbang,” which is slated to street in March.
Under terms of the deal, Lincoln will shoot eight films per year for HDK.
