Playboy TV Restructures Programming Team

LOS ANGELES — Playboy Entertainment Group has hired Todd Schwartz as the new vice president of programming for Playboy TV as part of a restructuring effort that includes the promotion of Michael Spierer to vice president of programming and acquisitions for adult networks.

The promotion and hiring come on the heels of the addition of Bryan Postlethwait, who Playboy tapped to be the senior vice president of programming. Both Spierer and Schwartz will report to Postlethwait.

“Todd and Michael are part of a newly redesigned programming team for the Playboy Entertainment Group,” Postlethwait said. “The company is taking an aggressive approach to developing innovative content in an effort to attract new viewers and to expand the demographic for both our linear TV channels and for emerging platforms like subscription video-on-demand and mobile. We’re happy to have Todd join the team and proud to recognize Michael’s achievements here at Playboy.”

Schwartz will be responsible for content for Playboy TV as well as new media platforms. Prior to joining Playboy, Schwartz worked for Branded Media Corp., where he served as senior vice president of strategic development.

Schwartz also worked as an executive at VH1 and NBC Entertainment.

Spierer will be responsible for content on Playboy’s Spice Digital Networks, which include the Club Jenna Channel, Fresh!, Spice:Xcess and shorteez.
