Golden Age Porn Website VintageEroticMovies.com Launches

SAN FRANCISCO — A new website devoted to classic porn of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s, VintageEroticMovies.com has launched.

According to the creators, 40 years of dedicated collecting and archiving of erotic material is finally being released for view to the public. Hundreds of films, many of which have not been seen since the golden age of the adult theater, are being released weekly through the site. More popular films will also enjoy revitalization as they are digitized via high resolution scans from original negatives, making them look crisper and more beautiful.

The material comes courtesy of the Exodus Trust archive, a collection curated by world-renowned sexologist Dr. Ted MacIllvena. As the founder of the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality (IASHS) in San Francisco in 1976, MacIllvena and his colleagues devotedly collected erotological art for decades, amassing one of the world's largest libraries of sexologically relevant art. Usually only accessible to students at the IASHS, this special look into the complex world of Golden Age porn is uniquely valuable to our cultural history, and also provides a sexy peek into the erotic psyche of bygone eras.

With multiple valuable collections, like Gail Palmer's Caribbean Films (“Prisoners in Paradise,” “The Erotic Adventures of Candy”) and the films of Alex deRenzy (“Pretty Peaches,” “Femmes deSade”), there is something for every taste. Viewers can also see renowned stars like Carol Connors, Ron Jeremy, Veronica Hart, and porn legend John Holmes at the peaks of their careers.

"VintageEroticMovies.com has mined some dazzling gems of the golden era of porn from the dusty depths of the Exodus Trust Archives," said Annie Sprinkle, former adult star and ecosexual artist. She added, "You will find some of porn history's diamonds, rubies, emeralds and opals. You will also likely find some fools-gold, dirt, and rubble — which might be the most interesting and eXXXciting stuff of all."

What makes the archive particularly noteworthy is how close it came to not existing at all. During the ‘70's and '80's many porn companies closed their doors when they could not make the leap from 16mm and 35mm film to VHS tape, the operators said. MacIllvena took this opportunity to welcome whole collections into the archive, often complete with copyright ownership. Some canisters of films were literally rescued right out of the dumpster to be safely archived and are only now being made available to the public.

Accoring to the site operators, these films take on new meaning and relevance in the context of the current porn industry. Some of the content seems rare and sexy now but were once mundane, while other things —taboo by modern standards —used to be run-of-the-mill.

The site is also offering an affiliate marketing program. Visit VintageEroticMovies.com/affiliate for more information.
