LOS ANGELES — Adult film star and Penthouse Pet Chanel Preston announced that she will be making her directing debut for James Deen Productions.
Preston’s first movie is an all-girl title, which will release in February through James Deen Productions’ distributor, Girlfriends Films.
James Deen reports that Chanel Preston’s style and work ethic align well with his production company, James Deen Productions. “Chanel will not accept anything but perfection,” Deen said. “She believes in what she is creating and is going to give it her all.”

James Deen Productions has proved a fast-growing studio in recent years, racking up 15 nominations for the upcoming 2015 XBIZ Awards. Deen’s achievements are recognized across all platforms, including producer, director and performer.
Bringing on Preston to direct is the first time the company has employed a director other than Deen.
“I never intended to be the only director for my company,” he explained. “I am pretty loud about my opinions, so I feel labeling a company with my name will not only allow people to know I am giving my personal stamp of approval to the content, but also that it aligns nicely with my vision. I see no reason for me to be the exclusive creator of adult entertainment – I think it’s a world we all can share and deliver different perspectives in regards to the same sexual story.”
Preston has been nominated for Female Performer of the Year for the XBIZ Awards.
When asked why he took a chance on an inexperienced director, Deen said, “One time Chanel was speaking to me about the philosophy of presenting something which could be conceived as scary in a beautiful way. My response was to ask if she had ever thought of directing.
“Chanel presented me with a treatment for her idea, and I thought it was one of the most creative and clever ideas I had heard in quite a while. After a quick conversation about aesthetics, it was clear we were on the same page, and I could trust her with taking the reigns and producing an amazing project … one I hope will be her first of many.”
Preston’s previous experience directing and producing comes from her web series, “Naked with Chanel,” which launched earlier this year. In the series, Preston helps viewers shed their inhibitions and negative attitudes about sex in order to better understand themselves and others.
Preston continues to raise her crossover appeal with her ongoing hosting work for X3Sixty’s cable TV program, “Inside Adult.”
