Kelly Shibari Receives 2 Noms for 2015 XBIZ Awards

LOS ANGELES — Kelly Shibari adds to her ever-growing list of industry recognitions with a “Best Scene (Non-Feature Release)” nomination for the 2015 XBIZ Awards.

In addition to her performance nomination, the plus size beauty’s directorial collaboration on the first-ever sex education film for people of size, “Jessica Drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex: Plus Size,” has received “Specialty Release of The Year” nods.

Kelly Shibari is the only plus size adult actress nominated in a performance-based category by XBIZ. The previous year held similar distinctions, as Shibari was nominated at the 2014 XBIZ Awards for “Best Non-Sex Acting Performance,” in Wicked Pictures’ “Summer Loving.”

“I’m so incredibly honored to receive these nominations from XBIZ,” says Kelly. “To be considered amongst non-BBW performers, in such a high-profile category, is absolutely humbling. To also have my collaboration with Jessica Drake considered is doubly amazing.”

“It has always been my goal to show people of size as sensual and sexual, and to have the XBIZ staff and critics agree is validation my efforts have not been in vain,” Kelly adds. “It’s an inspiration to keep going, and I thank XBIZ for these nominations.”

The plus size beauty’s “Best Scene (Non-Feature Release)” nominated performance with Ramon Nomar is in New Sensation’s “Big Girls Are Sexy 4,” while showcase feature “Meet Kelly” from Digital Sin, which matched her with the biggest names in male talent, is part of the company’s “Meet…” series, nominated for “All-Sex Series of The Year” by the 2015 XBIZ Awards, selected Kelly for its singular plus size offering.

Scheduled for Jan. 15 in Los Angeles, adult film superstar James Deen is set to host the industry’s largest gala at a cutting-edge venue linked to JW Marriott and The Ritz-Carlton at the downtown Los Angeles entertainment complex, L.A. Live.
