New Sensations Begins Production on 'Submission of Emma Marx 2'

LOS ANGELES — Production has begun on New Sensations' sequel to its 2013 award-winning BDSM blockbuster "The Submission of Emma Marx." Produced under the studio's "Erotic Stories" shingle, the project is helmed by writer/director Jacky St. James and toplined by Penny Pax and Richie Calhoun, reprising their roles as D/s contractually bonded lovers Emma Marx and Mr. Frederick.

Tentatively titled "The Submission of Emma Marx 2: Boundaries," the sequel opens a new chapter in the story of young Emma Marx's sexual journey and quest for self-discovery. In the wake of an intense, confusing, and dangerous relationship with Mr. Frederick, her mysterious, emotionally-guarded Dom, Emma now holds the reigns to her own future.

"We’re seeing Emma’s evolution as a sexual being and how she is fully coming into her own," St. James said. "I grappled with how to approach the sequel to Emma’s story. I really wanted to honor who she was and to stay true to her as a strong female protagonist. There were a lot of choices to make – especially about whether she should stay with Mr. Frederick or move on. I am extremely proud of this script and am confident in the direction the story takes."

In addition to Pax and Calhoun, "The Submission of Emma Marx 2: Boundaries” sees the return of reigning XBIZ Female Performer of the Year Riley Reid and Van Wylde as Emma's conventional sister Nadia and her now-husband Ray. New to the cast are Sara Luvv and Logan Pierce. Award-winning director Eddie Powell and industry veteran Paul Woodcrest handle cinematography.

"Day one and two of production are completed and I couldn’t be more pleased. From the performances to the cinematography, I’m very happy right out of the gate," St. James said. "Eddie Powell knows how to create beautiful, dynamic imagery and artistically he’s really showing what he’s made of on this one. Paul Woodcrest and Powell are shooting this entire movie and I’m so glad to have two of the industry’s best collaborating with me on this film."

"The Submission of Emma Marx 2: Boundaries" is slated for February release.

"The Submission of Emma Marx" was released in 2012, marking the launch of New Sensations' influential "Erotic Stories" line of hard-edged, story-driven features. Co-directed by St. James with Eddie Powell, "The Submission of Emma Marx" earned co-star Riley Reid a Best Supporting Actress win at the 2014 XBIZ Awards. The film also took top honors at the 2014 XRCO Awards, winning Best Release, Best Director - Features (St. James) and Best Actor (Calhoun).
