LOS ANGELES — Dana Vespoli snagged 10 nominations from XBIZ for the 2015 XBIZ Awards on Jan. 15.
That’s four more nominations that she scored for the 2014 XBIZ Awards when she went home with the trophy for Director of the Year – Non-Feature Release for "Girl/Boy" (Dana Vespoli/Evil Angel).
Once again, her nominations are a testament to her versatility and sense of adventure as a director, covering releases in a wide range of categories: features, couples, transsexual, interracial and all-girl. Half of her XBIZ noms went to her biggest release of the year, "Hollywood Babylon."
This year’s noms include Director of the Year - Body of Work; Director of the Year - Feature Release for "Hollywood Babylon" (Dana Vespoli/Evil Angel); Couples-Themed Release of the Year and Screenplay of the Year for "Hollywood Babylon"; Interracial Release of the Year for "Back in Black" (Dana Vespoli/Evil Angel); and Transsexual Release of the Year for "TS I Love You" (Dana Vespoli/Evil Angel).
Two movies directed by Dana release this week from her imprint at Evil Angel comes "Dana Vespoli’s Real Sex Diary" and Sweetheart releases "Prison Lesbians" this week.
“I'm curious to see the response,” Dana said recently. “It's a big departure from what I normally do. If anything it kind of deconstructs porn scenes, which will appeal to some and put others off. Hopefully more people will like it than not.”
"Real Sex" stars Dana with James Deen, Tyler Nixon and Adrian Chechik. "Prison Lesbians" stars Sinn Sage, Karlie Montana, Charlotte Stokely, Dana DeArmond, Lily Cade, Nikki Hearts, Sara Luvv and Misha Cross.
