GameLink Promising 3D Interactive Porn via Microsoft's RoomAlive

SAN FRANCISCO — GameLink announced today that it plans to launch 3D interactive motion-racking porn via Microsoft’s RoomAlive technology.

No set date for the roll out has been officially announced, but vice president of business development, Jeff Dillon said the company has begun the R&D phases of the technology and is looking forward to providing it to consumers globally.

The company explained that the RoomAlive software — initially developed two years ago — is a merger of Microsoft's Kinect motion-tracking system and LCD projectors, and uses projection to display images on a 3D depth-sensitive map.

“If you take a look at the evolution of technology, you’ll notice the adult industry has always been at the forefront, experimenting with new angles,” Dillon said.

He added, “From early availability on VHS to domination of the Internet, and evolved privacy advancements, it’s only natural the adult entertainment industry adopt interactive 3D technology. Interactive sexual game play will definitely play a huge role in the future of porn.”

GameLink noted that the adult industry is widely recognized for its early adoption of technology and new media citing e-commerce, VHS, video chat and webcams, long before the technologies were used by mainstream.

Mircosoft’s Windows Media player — which was one of the first technologies to introduce users to VOD, webcast audio, and video streaming technology — launched a new era of how customers consumed porn, and now Microsoft’s new software, RoomAlive, will be the first to establish 3D interactive porn, according to GameLink.

“Right now we don’t have a timetable on when this new advancement in adult entertainment will be available,” Dillon said. “There’s still a lot of work to do to ensure the best consumer experience, but one thing is for certain — 3D interactive adult content is coming.”
