ASACP Honors its Featured Sponsors for November

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection has announced its Featured Sponsors for the month of November, 2014.

According to ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning, ASACP is pleased to highlight a selection of its most generous and long-term sponsors each month because these companies consistently support the association, and its mission of protecting children, by keeping them out of and away from adult entertainment.

“ASACP’s Sponsor Recognition Program honors those companies that have demonstrated a willingness to put child protection ahead of profits,” Henning stated. “This is seen in the use of the Restricted To Adults (RTA) website label, and by following ASACP’s Code of Ethics and its market-specific Best Practices, among other proactive measures.”

“By upholding the highest ethical and operational standards,” Henning adds, “ASACP’s sponsors set an example that is worth following.”

Celebrating a fall harvest of ongoing support, ASACP recognizes three of its oldest sponsors — XBIZ, Epoch and Rabbit’s Reviews — for their continued support of the association and the never ending fight to protect children online.

XBIZ
A founding Platinum Sponsor since 2002, XBIZ has had a long relationship with ASACP, with both organizations having been founded by Alec Helmy.

According to XBIZ, it is the adult entertainment industry’s leading publisher of business news and information — providing up-to-the-minute coverage of the industry at XBIZ.com and in three trade publications — XBIZ World for the digital media market, XBIZ Premiere for the retail market and XBIZ Sensuals for the intimate products market. In addition, XBIZ hosts multiple annual trade events including the red-carpet gala XBIZ Awards. XBIZ is frequently cited in the media for coverage of the industry and has been published in CNN, Fox News, Newsweek, MSNBC, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Wired, CNET, ABC, USA Today and Los Angeles Times among others.

Although it is an industry news portal, the XBIZ.com website sets a responsible example for the adult industry by using the RTA tag to prevent minors from accessing it. The company has also extended its generosity to the association by supporting ASACP’s attendance at its events — including the provision of accommodations, advertising and exhibit space.

Epoch
A founding Platinum Sponsor that has supported ASACP for more than 12 years, professional Internet Payment Services Provider Epoch, enables merchants to process transactions online and through mobile devices, and to accept payments for digital products and services. Epoch recently partnered with PayPal to restore the service to adult website operators — a sign of its reputation for legitimacy and oversight of client web properties.

Epoch takes an active, two-pronged approach to child protection — first, by ensuring that its services are not used by illegal websites selling materials depicting underage performers, and secondly, by selflessly providing dedicated service on the association’s Advisory Committee — helping to set the responsible standards and practices for legitimate adult entertainment and other companies disseminating age-restricted digital materials.

Epoch’s responsible corporate philosophy puts people (including children) first, exemplifying the type of industry-leading company that makes up ASACP’s most valued sponsors.

Rabbit’s Reviews
A Corporate Sponsor supporting ASACP since 2005, Rabbit’s Reviews is a free adult website that provides reviews of premium adult paysites as an independent rating of the quality and value of these sites, acting as the “Consumer Reports” of Internet porn.

Rabbit’s Reviews makes it its business to review countless adult websites and is in a position to understand the importance of protecting children from inappropriate material. Through its generous support, it has helped ASACP to carry on its mission of protecting children on the Internet, while helping to set the standards of legitimacy and quality for adult websites.

RabbitsReviews.com helps prevent a minor’s unauthorized access to its age-restricted content by using a warning page and parental filtering controls. These measures provide a protective barrier between youth and adult entertainment, in accordance with ASACP’s Best Practices.

From adult news and trade events, to online payment processing and premium adult content reviews, the range of companies that sponsor ASACP represent all market segments and show that “doing the right thing” as part of their corporate culture allows businesses to benefit children, as well as their own business interests.
