Porno Dan Leal's 'Danland' Doc Hits Netflix

LOS ANGELES — Dan Leal, aka the notorious "Porno Dan," on Friday announced that the mainstream documentary in which he stars, "Danland," is now available on Netflix.

“Danland” follows Leal from his humble beginnings as amateur porn producer in Washington, D.C. to becoming one of the most prolific production companies in Porn Valley. The 91-minute feature length film delves into Porno Dan’s personal life, exploring his relationships, business and family dynamics. It also documents the varied series of ups and downs that brought him to Chatsworth and eventually led the amateur pornographer with a cardbox box full of DVCams to becoming a well-established industry producer.

“To have 'Danland' on Netflix is a real honor," Leal said. "Everyone in the porn business knows who I am but not a lot of them, especially the new girls who are shooting for us all the time, know where I came from and how difficult it was to get to where I am. I am honored that my story is now in front of Netflix's 26 million subscribers and my journey will be seen by so many people."

The busy director, performer and CEO of Immoral Productions has been a staple of the adult industry for more than a decade. In addition to being one of the largest employers of adult actresses in the business, his company operates more than a dozen websites, releases two movies per week on DVD through Pure Play Media, had garnered more than 100 award nominations, and is recognized as a leader in live streaming porn shows.

Leal's mainstream media exposure includes being the main character in two seasons of the TV series “The Right Hand" which aired on Movie Central and The Movie Network in Canada and is slated to begin airing in Brazil this Fall.

Leal also appeared on Channel 4 in the U.K. in the show “Date My Porn Star," Channel 3 in Sweden’s “69 Things You Would Like to Know About Sex” and he has been profiled by the Washington Post.
