Good Vibrations Announces 'National Sexy at Every Size' Week

SAN FRANCISCO — Good Vibrations announced that it will be launching a series of events centering around its new “Sexy at Every Size” campaign that underscores the point that all body types are worthy of feeling sexy and admired.

The event wraps up the company’s week-long celebration of body positivity on Oct. 17 at its Kearny Street Lifestyle Boutique in San Francisco with “Abundance: A sensual exploration of plus sized pleasure” from 4-8 p.m.

Good Vibrations explained that the campaign evolved from its #PleasureIsYourBirthright movement throughout social media, created in hopes of altering perceptions and reaffirming the idea that pleasure and sexual health are experiences that belong to all genders, orientations and body types.

The Sexy at Every Size campaign will continue that message, featuring conversations on body positivity and empowerment that will showcase a selection of products that work better for self-proclaimed “curvy,” “plus size,” “voluptuous,” “fat,” “thick” and  “chubby” body types. Whether offering position pillows, longer toys that offer more reach, or plus size harnesses and lingerie, Good Vibrations said it is adamant that their product selection is inclusive to a broader range of body types.

Good Vibrations will also celebrate the event with online and in-store events. On Oct. 15, sex educator/sales associates will lead free “Humpday Happy Hour” workshops on products and positioning tips to help customers of all sizes maximize pleasure. These workshops will take place at both Good Vibrations Valencia Street in San Francisco and Good Vibrations on San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, California.

On Oct. 17, the company will host a special event, “Abundance; A sensual exploration of plus sized pleasure,” at Good Vibrations Kearny Street in San Francisco from 4-8 p.m. The event will offer shoppers an opportunity to receive personalized fittings and product consultations, as well as view the latest styles in lingerie, boudoir accessories, couples’ toys, and strap-on harnesses. There will also be treats and special guests, hosted by Virgie Tovar, author of “Hot & Heavy: Fierce Fat Girls On Life, Love & Fashion.”

All in-store shoppers can also enter for a chance to win prizes all week long from Dreamgirl, SpareParts, Coquette, Shirley of Hollywood, and Sportsheets. The winners will be announced at Abundance, and all winners must be present.

In addition to free classes and in-store events throughout the entire week of Oct. 10, Good Vibrations will be engaging in a social media campaign allowing people to share their voices and stories with one another. While the in-store events will cater mainly to local retail customers, the company hopes the online campaign will spread body positivity globally.

Online visitors can read up on body positive topics such as “The Fat Girls' Guide to Online Dating!,” “Newsflash: Fat Girls Have Sex!,” as well as Good Vibrations’ Plus Size Shopping guide.

“In the age of the social media we feel that it's important to share our #SexyAtEverySize truths. We encourage everybody to snap a photo holding a sign that says "My #SexyAtEverySize Truth is ________." Body positivity comes in all sizes and shapes and we want to know yours,” the company said.
