Police Affidavit Says Gay Adult Star Murdered for Money

DENVER — Former gay adult actor Marcus Allen, whose real name is Timothy Boham, allegedly told his sister that he gunned down a prominent Denver businessman during a botched robbery attempt, according to a police affidavit for arrest document obtained by XBIZ.

Boham, 25, made his first court appearance this week on charges of first degree murder, felony murder and aggravated robbery of John Kelso.

The day after Kelso’s body was discovered, Boham’s sister Katherine allegedly contacted Denver police and said Boham had confessed to the murder, the police report said. Katherine Boham reportedly said that her brother was “upset” when she saw him after the shooting. He allegedly told her that Kelso had a safe in his home containing between $100,000 and $400,000.

“Kelso would not open the safe and he and Timothy struggled for a bit,” Denver police Lt. J.W. Priest wrote in the arrest warrant application. “During this altercation, Timothy shot Kelso.”

Katherine Boham allegedly told police that her brother had tried to clean up the crime scene before leaving with Kelso’s safe. She also said that he told her “the gun that he used is gone,” according to the affidavit.

Kelso was discovered by his housekeeper, Brent Cox, later that weekend lying in his bathtub with a single bullet wound in his head. The police report said that Kelso was shot while lying on the floor of his bedroom, and then dragged to the bathtub.

President and founder of a debt collection firm called Professional Recovery Systems, Kelso was openly gay, according to “news reports” quoted by Court TV.

Under the stage name of Marcus Allen, Boham performed in gay adult films such as “Little Big League” and “Ripe.” He left that business last year and recently was hired by Kelso as a debt collector.

Boham was arrested on Nov. 16 at the U.S.-Mexico border in Lukeville, Ariz. by Customs and Border officers.

Boham’s criminal record contains a previous arrest for alleged assault and making threats, but the charges were dropped, according to Court TV. He also was arrested several times for driving under the influence, driving without a license and driving with a prior DUI arrest.

State and federal records also reveal that Boham declared bankruptcy a number of times, and was arrested more than once for forgery and fraud, according to Court TV.

His next court appearance will be a preliminary hearing on Jan. 17.
