Crave Unveils Vesper, an Elegant Vibrator Necklace

SAN FRANCISCO — “At Crave we have always believed that ‘sex toys’ should be as beautiful and sophisticated as other modern products in our life,” Crave co-founder and designer Ti Chang narrates in a new product video. “That they should look as good as they feel.”

Putting its money where its mantra is, the Crave team has debuted its latest product, the Vesper, a vibrator that doubles as an elegant necklace — representing the sexy side of wearable tech.

Vesper, currently available for preorder, comes in silver ($49), rose gold ($59) and 24 KT gold-plated ($129) with a matching stainless steel chain. As a bonus for preorders, Crave is offering free engraving (under 60 characters). Unlike Crave’s last project, Duet, which was crowdfunded, Vesper is entering production and will ship in early September.

“In the spirit of continuing to elevate what sex toys could be, we've pushed the envelope by creating our version of wearable tech. Vesper is both a gorgeous piece of jewelry as well as a strong slim vibrator,” Crave's website explains. “Many have created a vibrator that fails as quality jewelry or a gimmicky pendant with underwhelming vibration. We've made sure that Vesper can truly do both in the most elegant and considered way. We believe that you can have it all.”

Slim, clean and simple, the aesthetically-conscious vibrator is USB rechargeable and features a stainless steel body and tip will not change color or tarnish, and three modes of vibration and a pulsation mode — or “not too many, just enough.”

Vesper in its three color incarnations will be available for its preorder price until Aug. 31 or until it sells out of its first production run. After that, it will be available at a retail price and later shipping date. So far, 109 of the 775 items have been claimed and, after garnering significant mainstream press, are moving quickly.
