LOS ANGELES — Director Will Ryder on Tuesday announced he is in pre-production on "Jersey Boys XXX The Sex Musical."
On the heels of his 2013 musical "Grease XXX," which received several industry awards in January, Ryder has decided to spoof the fabled journey of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons in their quest for beautiful women and chart-topping success in the early days of the record business.
"This is not a gay movie," Ryder joked before mentioning they might tweak the title a bit to convey that there will be plenty of women involved.
"This sex movie musical is really going to appeal to couples, women and also to porn fans that love the Jersey Boys but if you don't enjoy naked girls having sex along with great music this is not the movie for you."
The popularity of the Jersey Boys is immense and growing with the long-running Broadway musical continuously touring the world and the recent Clint Eastwood film being released so it is a natural that it would be the target of parody, Ryder added.
"We're going to have gorgeous girls sexually involved with guys amidst standout musical performances. This is a big blockbuster type production," said co-producer Scott David of X-Play.
The cast is currently being assembled and the movie will time travel from the mid 1960s to the 1970s complete with wardrobe evolution and advancing musical styles. Ryder is currently producing and recording the musical selections with his studio partner Rock Hardson.
In addition to "Grease XXX," X-Play and Will Ryder also produced the award-winning "Not the Wizard of Oz XXX" and "Not South Park XXX," incorporating music numbers into all of them.
Full casting details will be announced soon and interested actors and actresses should contact Ryder.
"Jersey Boys XXX The Porn Musical" will be in stores in September.
